PACIFIC SEAFARER'S NET LIVE MP3 AUDIO STREAM
We tested using live mp3 audio streaming last season. It was well
recieved. We also have podcast mp3 files
of past net sessions.
This season we are doing it again. This year as it was last year,
if N6HGG is not present at his station during the net, which is about
50 percent of the time, the stream will not run. It runs only
when Bob is present at his radio station.
To access the stream, there are several ways to do it. You can
use your browser and visit http://68.6.31.23:8000
(this "site" is only available when N6HGG Bob is on and running the
server). Or, you can use the
"play url or location" menu function of your media player and type
http://68.6.31.23:8000 into that window, or go to http://shoutcast.com
and type "n6hgg" without the quote marks into shoutcast's little search
window right there on the main front page. If the stream doesn't
show, it's likely it is not up and running. If it is running,
just click on the "tune in" link.
MP3 PLAYERS
You can download and use Winamp (free, a favorite if mp3 enthusiasts),
and a load of others.
Recent versions of windows media player and realplayer will work.
iTunes will
work on Macs. Numerous Linux players work.
